Soundborn is both a professional recording studio with a sound engineer and a “self-service studio.” Our services can be booked flexibly online. With your booking, you'll receive an access code that lets you open the red entrance door (Klesheimgasse 2). Our rental studio includes four areas: the bar area with the legendary “Hörbar,” the “studio” (made up of the control & voice room), the “drum room,” and the large “live room.” Depending on what you’ve booked, these rooms are available to you during your reserved time. In the control room, the voice room, drum room, and live room can be recorded across up to 16 tracks. Basic audio engineering knowledge is required to record independently, and we offer a short introduction for first-time visitors.
You’ll find your access code for the entrance door to Soundborn in your booking confirmation. Please make sure to have it with you when arriving at your booked time!
No, you need a confirmed booking with an access code to enter and use Soundborn.
Our live room is equipped for a wide range of uses and is ideal for rehearsals, recordings, jam sessions, workshops, and presentations. The standard setup includes a mixer with PA speakers, with a sound system and two vocal microphones connected by default. In addition, there are two guitar amps, a bass amp, a 5-piece drum set with cymbals, an entertainer keyboard, and a high-quality Yamaha C3 grand piano. Several music stands and lecterns are available, as well as a projector with retractable screen – ideal for workshops or lectures. For private events, we provide up to 20 chairs and 8 tables. When recording in combination with the control room, you also have access to 10 XLR microphone inputs.
Yes! There is a fully assembled drum set in the drum room that you can use for practice or – in combination with the control room – also for recording. If you'd prefer to bring your own drum kit, please let us know briefly before booking (office@soundborn.at) so we have enough time to take ours down.
